“With this EP I found myself looking towards the more unsettling side of ambient music by taking influences from outside the realm of calming or meditative music. I chose to use synthetic voices, pulsing syncopated rhythms and glass-like synths to try to create something unquiet yet still warm and ambient.”
stanleystanley is the alias that electronic music producer and short film composer Jordan Russell Hall uses for releasing ambient music. Whilst recording this new ‘soon soon’ EP he found myself listening to and being influenced by electronics producers such as Oneohtrix Point Never, Actress and Nathan Micay.
His earlier release for The Ambient Zone, ‘beside myself’, was the result of his experimentation with form and structure. It is “a beautifully composed and executed biographical and personal ep” (Somewhere Cold)
